Sally Warren-General Manager
I was born and raised in Haddonfield, New Jersey, a small town outside of Philadelphia. As the youngest of four, I had to develop a sense of humor and a strong sense of competetion, which probably helped prepare me for my current job and some unforeseen medical challenges. Upon graduating from Dickinson College, I moved to Hilton Head determined that I wanted to carve out my own identity.
My arrival in 1974 was not seamless. Hired to work for Sea Pines, I arrived only to find the man that had hired me had been fired in the 70's lay offs from Sea Pines. My teaching certificate was not reciprocal in two states, and South Carolina was one of them so I needed to scramble for a job before my German father insisted that I come home. I worked as a receptionist for an insurance ocmpany and then spent 7 years teaching school at a local private academy.
Making a whopping $5,000 a year, I was forced to look for a new career and ended up as a property manager. Property management is what I have done ever since including working with Shipyard since the mid 1980's.
I am married to David Warren a marketing consultant, and have one son David Jr., who is attending Davidson College. Our life seems to revolve around him, his education, his tennis pursuits ... and of course, trying to figure out how to pay for those things.
As a family we love sports, family gatehrings and a good laugh. My husband says I am a division one worrier and have kept every piece of paper that ever crossed my desk. So stop in sometime, you might be able to see me behind the stack of files. My goals are to stop and smell the roses and to go green, as long as I can still keep a few files just in case.

I am from Savannah, but lived many of my formative years in New Brunswick, NJ. I am a graduate of Bennett College, in Greensboro, NC where i majored in English and Business Administration. After surviving years and years of Catholic schools (where my own mother taught me) I really needed to experience something different. I wanted to actually get out of my plaid uniform , have a change of scenery and pace. I had the time of my life at college and I am so glad that I chose the college that I did. It was just far enough from home. I grew-up quite a bit there and made so many friends, which resulted in lasting relationships. I worked in Human Resources at Savannah Stae University right after graduation and also began work on my MBA. Just shy of a year later, I came to work here at Shipyard.
My son (Noah), my husband (Darryl) and I live in Savannah. Much of our time as a family is consumed with my son's sports and extracurricular activities. Football is BIG in our house. My son has played in a local league since he was four and we all enjoy being "part of the team". We are also huge Cowboys and Georgia Bulldogs fans. We enjoy traveling to just about anywhere and we are regular cruisers. When I do get some "me time" , which is quite rare , I try to make the most of it. I am an avid reader, I journal daily and I like to learn whatever I can about different places, cultures and religions. I love a good debate, especially when it comes to politics. I recently became a licensed realtor, but I plan to stay inactive for the time being. In short, I have a very busy life but I try to enjoy every single minute of it.
